Has anyone experiences on connecting Make agent to WhatsApp? What are does and don’ts?

Hi Jeroen,

Baseline is that Whatsapp ants to avoid companies spamming around, especially when interacting with API. This is the main point.

Having said this, two things you should consider are:

  1. Whatsapp does not integrate directly with Make, you have to use its business partners like Manychat or Klaviyo, although a Whatsapp Business Cloud module exists (but not the best solution in my experience). Hence, you have to set up a “middle player”.
  2. You won’t be able to initiate a conversation with a contact you have never interacted with before, unless you use a preformatted and preapproved template, with some degree of customization. This makes the use of agents a a bit tricky, as you won’t be able to write a free text to them, but use the agent to create some dynamic fields to fill in with agent’s results.

Interacting via Whatsapp is pretty difficult, so you should start with mapping the process and the goals you have, and see what Whatsapp allows you to do.
