I’m building an automated voice-based ordering system for a small business, where the entire workflow is managed through Make.com.

When a customer calls the business, a voice AI agent will:

  1. Handle the call and generate a transcript of the conversation
  2. Make.com will then:
  • Extract the customer’s requested items from the transcript
  • Detect quantities (e.g., “2 of X, 1 of Y”)
  1. The system should:
  • Match those spoken items to a product database by product ID
  • Automatically create a new order in the connected POS system via API (no manual entry required)
  • Calculate the total price of the order using the price data from the POS
  1. The voice agent should then state the total price back to the customer before ending the call
  2. If possible, the system should also recognize whether it’s a pickup or delivery order

The goal is full automation — from phone call to order creation and total price confirmation — without any staff intervention.
