Embed an introductory image in a new Joomla article

I would like to be able to publish an introductory image on my Joomla article.

I specify that this image must be on the server in the /images folder of the Joomla website and not an external URL.

How do you upload the image to the Joomla site server in the /images folder and then retrieve the URL and indicate it in the Joomla Post API.

Apparently the Joomla API does not include media management?

Thank you for your feedback.

Welcome to the Make community!

Looks like there are no Joomla modules that uploads a media item/image.

I’m sure others would agree that this is a nice module to have.

You can submit this suggestion to the Idea exchange, under App improvement ideas

Don’t forget to search for it first, just in case someone already suggested it, so that you don’t end up creating a duplicate.

Hope this helps! Let me know if there are any further questions or issues.

Hello and thank you for the feedback. It’s done, I submitted my improvement request for Joomla.
Best regards

Hi,
The action modules for Joomla, create article and update are already prepared for the management of images in Joomla! articles for intro page article and full text article,
Even for SEO management, alt text, caption…

for media management, in joomla images folder, you can use SPF

Joomla does not use the database for media management, it does not consume as many resources as other cms do :). Joomla! works directly on the file directory images.

Thanks
Javier

Hello, thank you for the details and the screenshots which will help many

I specifically wanted to avoid the use of FTP or sFTP.
I approached an API developer known to the Joomla community
Alexandre Elise who told me that, just like WordPress, there was a media API on Joomla. But it’s not documented and it’s not currently available on Make. In the meantime there is only this solution…

Thanks
