I’m using the Gmail → Watch Emails module in Make.com to track incoming emails with a specific label (e.g., project-based labels like ABC_123). I’ve noticed a consistent issue:
When I apply a label to the first email in a conversation thread, it works fine. But when I receive replies to that same thread later, those replies are not detected by the Watch Emails module, even though they appear under the same label in Gmail.
I understand each message in Gmail has a unique Message ID, but Gmail applies the label to the full thread. However, the Make scenario doesn’t pick up those replies unless I manually remove and re-apply the label after each reply, which is not practical in ongoing projects with many emails.
I’ve tried using:
Folder set to the specific label
Filter type: Simple, Criteria: All Emails
Still, Make doesn’t trigger on new replies under that labeled thread unless the label is freshly reapplied.
Can you confirm:
Does the Gmail Watch Emails module only detect emails at the time the label is applied?
Is there a better way to continuously detect replies in labeled threads without reapplying the label every time?
