Any ideas how to edit Instagram Post Caption using Make.com? Didn’t find any make’s internal solution to do this :frowning:

I don’t think there is an API endpoint that allows editing existing content in Instagram.

You can’t change an Instagram post caption using Make.com. Once the post is live, there’s no option to edit the caption through it because the Instagram Graph API doesn’t allow it. If something needs fixing, the only real option is to delete the post and upload it again with the correct caption, so it’s best to double-check everything before posting.

I don’t think Make has a built-in way to edit an Instagram post caption after it is already published.

If you look at the current Instagram for Business app in Make, it has actions like Create a photo post, Create a reel post, Create a comment, and Get post, but there is no action for Update post or Edit caption.

So this is most likely not something you missed in the modules. It looks like editing the caption of an existing IG post is just not supported in Make’s native Instagram modules right now.

In practice, that usually means:

  • edit it manually in Instagram, or

  • delete and repost it with the new caption if your workflow allows that.
