🚨 Important information for all Stripe users

:rotating_light: Important information for all Stripe users

We recently communicated the need to switch your Stripe connections to the Restricted API Key (RAK) authentication method. Unfortunately, due to technical issues, we needed to revise the authentication structure and modify the setup.

Please update your scenarios and recreate your Stripe connections once again to align with the new structure. Ensure you set the “Restricted API Key” as the API key type.

We apologize for the additional steps and appreciate your patience and cooperation.

If you need to update the connection in multiple modules, you can use our DevTool extension to simplify the process.

Thank you very much for your understanding

How can we tell if we’re on a restricted api key or the basic depreciated api key?

Hello @yazzi

Currently, there isn’t a straightforward way to check the type of Stripe connection you are using.

If you tend to keep the default names for connections created in Make, you can distinguish the connection types in the connection list as follows:

  • OAuth connections include “OAuth” in the name.
  • API key connections include “Key Connection” in the name.
  • Basic API connections appear as “My XYZ Connection” (in this case “My Stripe Connection”).

If you have renamed your connection, we recommend creating a new one to be certain.

Thank you @Michaela

When i attempt to update the API key, i don’t have the Restricted API key for creating a webhook. is this correct? I’ve contacted support but i doubt i will get a response this week. I have however, received a notice from stripe about the depreciated version, so not sure what to do next.

@Michaela not sure if you saw my message, but this is urgent, and i don’t think support is going to answer me this week. I don’t understand why I don’t have a RAK option like you do in your screenshot. Thank you
