Monday.com Vlookup style function

Hi Community,

Can anyone help me with the below,

I have a master template in Monday.com, for each new job/client a new board is created from this template.

One of the groups on the board is Stockmarket codes, and I want to perform a function like a Vlookup where I can type the stock code and then Monday or Make retrieves the - Stock name, Stock Registy, and Stock price. (this is on a Gsheet, or on another Monday board)

I had this working with the connect boards feature but it caps out after 20 connection which isn’t enough as I do nearly 40 jobs per month. (unless i can work out a way to turn off the connection but keep the info on the board)

I then had it working with a 3rd party app called Vlookup but after the free trial I learnt the cost is almost $3k AUD :frowning: .

I think I can get it to work in make on the template board but I cant figure out how to get the make scenario to work on any future boards created from that template?

If someone could point me in the right direction, or can help me that would be amazing

How often does the data need to be updated? Using Make for this might become quite expensive if the values need to be updated frequently.

at a guess around 40-60 lines per month? The values dont need to change dynamically, its just what they are at the time the shares are added to a board.

Its a frustrating one as I used to do it in a spread sheet and it was so simple to solve with a vlookup and another tab on the spreadsheet template.

Open to any workarounds if you have any suggestions :slight_smile:
