Thinkific User ID confusion

I am trying to create my first integration, where a user is automatically enrolled in a specific Thinkific course once they’ve registered for the event in WildApricot (our membership platform).

I set Thinkific as the action, and selected the respective course to enroll students in. However, I am confused what the User ID field is for. The user ID should be assigned to the person registering for the course, they won’t already exist in Thinkific. So I don’t understand what I am supposed to select here, as this just shows user IDs of all current Thinkific users.

Welcome to the Make community!

So you’ll need to use the “Create a User” module to create a user, before you can enroll them.

Sometimes you’ll need to use more than one module. You might also need to “Search for users” before you create a duplicate user.

Thank you for the suggestion. I suppose I am still having trouble seeing how I can go about automatically enrolling people in a course though. Even if I add a 1st “create user” step before the enrollment step, the enrollment portion still requires a specific userID to be selected as part of the make. I need it to automatically know who to enroll based on their information entered during the event registration.

Having the User ID field seems to defeat the purpose of an automated integration…

That’s because the user exists on WildApricot, but not Thinkific.

Hope it makes sense.
