I am trying to update all of the item names on a large board in Monday.com. Essentially, I want to add text to the end of each item name. Monday.com does not support this bulk change of item names, via automation or via import. I was looking to find a way with Make but am stuck on mapping back to the item name column in Monday.com. All other columns have column IDs. One Monday tech told me the column ID would simply be “Name” but I am not sure how to add this as a variable within Make, since it does not auto populate as the rest of the columns do in the “Update Columns of a Specific Item” module. Any advice?
To get the column IDs, please navigate to Monday.labs and enable the developer module.

Search Developer
Click on 3 dots to get the column ID

Hi, Thank you for the help, but I do already have dev enabled in Monday. I use column IDs majority of the time, but my issue is that I do not see a column ID for the main (1st) column in Monday. It is the only column that does not have one. In conjunction, Make.com will show all column IDs when “map” is toggled on, except for the main column ID. How can I update the main column using a Make automation?
You can use the module Update columns values of Monday. This module will auto populate all columns names - We believe this should be name for first column.

Hello @Msquare_Automation
Thank you, but I have already been using the Update Columns module but it does not autopopulate the first column. All other columns autopopulate. Is there another way I can add the column?
