We suspect automated behavior on your account Note on my instagram

I recently started using Make.com to automate my social media posts, and I typically post about three times a day. However, I recently saw this message pop up on my Instagram:

“We suspect automated behavior on your account. To prevent your account from being temporarily restricted or permanently disabled, ensure that no other users or tools have access to your account and that you’re following our Terms of Use. Also, consider changing your password to a stronger one to prevent unauthorized access to your account by third parties.”

I’m quite worried. Is automating three posts a day too much? Should I reduce it to just one post? What would be the best approach? I assumed that since Make.com offers a module for Instagram posting, it would be acceptable as long as it’s used responsibly.

Are you using additional tools to gain followers and likes? If yes stop them.

No I am not using such tools

Make.com is the first and only tool that is being used for instagram and we are only using Make.com to post for now

For technical issues like this, directly contacting support can often lead to a faster resolution. They have access to your specific account details, scenario and scenario logs, server-side logs, and internal tools and resources, which allows them to investigate more thoroughly than what you have access to. Additionally, sharing sensitive information about your account or scenario might not be suitable for an open forum discussion.

You can open a new ticket here, or if you are unable to login for some reason, you can create another new free account to access the ticketing system (which is only available to logged-in users). After submitting a new ticket, you will receive an automatic confirmation email with the subject “Ticket Created” in the subject. If you do not receive this, try sending the ticket again.

If you manage to get your issue resolved with support, we’d still love to hear about it! Sharing your solution on the forum can help others facing similar problems.

Hope this helps! Let me know if there are any further questions or issues.

P.S.: Investing some effort into the Make Academy will save you lots of time and frustration using Make.

We receive the same warning. Any updates on this topic?

@Lethukuthula_Lunga This happens to me with one Post a day

Here is what i got from Make.com support:

Make uses Instagram’s official API Documentation to connect and create automation. We also adhere to Instagram’s policies, which should minimize the risk of account issues. The use of API features typically includes posting content, retrieving basic user data, and managing media. As long as the automation strictly involves these functions without engaging in prohibited activities (like liking or following users automatically), it should be compliant.

Always review Instagram’s Platform Policy for the latest guidelines on acceptable use.

Keep an eye on your account for any alerts from Instagram regarding automated behavior and avoid using multiple automations at once. If you receive a warning, it might be wise to pause any automated processes temporarily.

Please familiarize yourself with Instagram’s Platform Terms to ensure your automation is fully compliant.
