Generate a unique reference for Monday Item

Hi, I’m trying to generate a relatively short, unique reference for my Monday items.

Unfortunately, the Item ID column isn’t suitable for our requirements.
Whilst searching for answers, I found these threads:

This is definitely in the right direction for what I want to achieve, but I can’t seem to adapt it to Monday.

I’m struggling to understand the Datastore and how it works.

What I’m trying to achieve is:

On item creation, the ID column should update with a unique project ref that starts with the current year as YY and then a number in the format of 00X. If I can get it to take the format of 24-001, then all the better.

Any pointers to the correct articles or direction I should be going would be much appreciated.

Hi @Chris_F

On Monday, you can utilize the AutoID Column tool to generate unique numbers, or you can use the item ID as a unique identifier. If your number should in the simple number, please go through AutoID. Please utilize the ‘Make Update’ module to update the name as per your requirements.
