How to Send Information to a Slack Canvas Using Make.com

Hello everyone,

I’m looking to automate some tasks in Slack using Make.com, specifically around working with Canvas. I’d like to know how I can use Make.com to:

  1. Send information (such as text or files) directly to a Slack Canvas.
  2. Create new items in lists within a Canvas.
  3. Create entirely new lists within a Canvas.

If anyone has experience with these types of automations, could you please provide some guidance or examples? Detailed instructions or links to relevant resources would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Carlos_Irigoyen,

Welcome to the Make Community! I am a die-hard Slack user, except for the canvas. The Slack API allows methods for interaction with canvases: Web API methods | Slack

So you should be able to interact with your canvases via the Make an API Call module in the Slack App.

On this community, we can help you if you get stuck. But it is advised to follow your own learning path so that you gain the knowledge to use Make to your best abilitie. Therefore, I advise you to go through the Make Academies and Make Help Centre:

Please, follow these steps when asking a question, and you’ll be more likely to get a helpful answer:

:writing_hand: Give us a detailed explanation of what you’re trying to achieve

:footprints: Tell us about any steps you’ve tried so far

:camera_flash: Include screenshots of:

  • your scenario flow and setup (functions, mappings, variables, etc.)
  • module configurations and outputs
  • any error messages you are getting

:card_file_box: Share the blueprint of the scenario you are asking a question about. (this does not contain any connection or personal information)

Cheers,
Henk
