Inbound Webhook to Retell AI from Make

:bullseye: What is your goal?

I am a 787 pilot and often airborne for 15 hours. I have a side hustle as a mortgage broker and I am trying to create an AI Voicemail Agent on Retell that will answer my phone and let the borrower or realtor know that I am currently airborne for the next 15 hours.

 What is the problem & what have you tried?

I have the webhook setup in Make to check my Google calendar to see if I am flying, pull the flight data (flight number, cities, ETA) and then generate a webhook to export that data as dynamic variables to Retell. However Retell doesn’t seem to recognize these dynamic variables no matter what I do. I have been using ChatGPT to try and do my coding but it must be missing something. Retell does not seem to see the dynamic variables I’ve created

Hello @Elliott_Bowman !

Welcome to the Community!

I think the solution to your problem is simple.

Retell most likely expects correct headers. By default, they are empty.

To do this:

  1. Toggle on Advanced settings in your webhook response module:

  1. Add the following header:

Key: Content-Type
Value: application/json

Please let me know if that helps!

Have a nice day!
Michał

Sorry I should have mentioned, I already had done that according to ChatGPT’s instructions. It just seems like Retell AI is not recognizing these dynamic variables. Any tips on how to get them recognized clearly?

Have you defined response variables?

Step no. 8:

It uses dot notation, in you case for example:

Key: is_airborne

Value dynamic_variables.is_airborne
