Move a file from Dropbox into Notion

What are you trying to achieve?

I would like to see/access files in a Dropbox folder in Notion.
Example: I add a new document to a folder, Make would send the file to a Notion database.

Steps taken so far

I’ve tried to create the connection using “Create database item” and “Append a Database Item Content” and even “create a new page”
I keep getting stuck at “Database ID.” When I click “choose” it brings up tags on Dropbox, but nothing on Notion.
I feel like I’m doing this the hard way.
Thanks for any help!!

Hi Johnny,
Could you share some screenshots of your Make scenario and what you see on “Database ID”?

Sure - hope this is helpful:

Remove all the mapped values in the “Database ID” input field. Then select “Search” and type the name of the Notion database you want to use for this automation. Once found, the database ID will be automatically populated, and you will be able to set up the module properly

OK - that’s getting closer, I think. Now it’s asking for a “Database Item ID”

This you will need to determine based on the workflow you intend to achieve. If the file already exists in Notion, you can use a “Search objects” and use the desired filter to find it. Otherwise, you should use a “Create database item” instead of “Update database item”. Based on your initial message, it sounds like you want to CREATE a database item, not UPDATE an existing one in Notion

Thanks for that - still getting the question about the Database Item ID from above.
