Hello everyone,
I am trying to set up the WhatsApp Business Cloud ‘Watch Events’ trigger in Make to handle inbound messages. Here is my situation:
• I have registered a new phone number with the WhatsApp Business Cloud (WABA) and created a permanent access token.
• In Make, the ‘Send a Message’ module successfully recognizes my new phone number, so outbound message connection seems to work.
• However, the ‘Watch Events’ trigger does not receive any inbound events.
• On Meta’s side, the webhook verification passes without errors, but Make never shows a triggered event, even though I am running the scenario.
• I have studied the official Make video that demonstrates creating a Meta app and using the ‘Send a Message’ module, which worked fine for me, but the inbound ‘Watch Events’ piece is where I am stuck.
Questions/Attempts So Far:
• Should I add a “Post response” module in the scenario after the ‘Watch Events’ trigger to confirm the handshake, then remove it later?
• Does the permanent token or phone number ID need extra permissions for inbound triggers?
• Is there anything else I must do within the Meta Developer Console (e.g., manual subscription steps or something else) so that inbound messages actually reach Make?
I have attached screenshots showing:
• My scenario flow with the ‘Watch Events’ module.
• Verification settings on the Meta side (doesn’t say “Verified”, but this screen is the result of successful verification).
If anyone has encountered this issue or has advice on completing the inbound message flow, I would greatly appreciate the help!
Thank you!
